Electric power - for the sake of environment!

The railways of Denmark have 4 different currents:
  • 1500 V direct current. S-train in the Copenhagen area, introduced in 1934.
  • 25 000 V, 50 Hz alternating current. For National long-distance traffic, introduced in 1984.
  • 15 000 V, 15 kV 16 ²/3 Hz alternating current For German trains in Padborg south, introduced in 1996.
  • 750 V direct current Metro i the Copenhagen area, introduced in 2002. The electric power goes through a third rail
        - Even the Tram Museum has electric power.
